Hypnosis & Hypnotherapy

“… can help you get to the root cause of your problems
and overcome them quickly and easily.”

About Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy

Most people experience deep relaxation and awe at quickly discovering the roots of their problems in hypnosis. It is a quick, easy and safe way to help you understand and let go of the old feelings that are holding you back.

Hypnosis is a wonderful tool that can help you get to the root cause of your problems and overcome them quickly and easily.

Hypnosis is helpful in dealing with issues which lead to unhappiness, dysfunction or difficulty in achieving your personal goals, such as:

  • habit control, smoking, drinking, excessive eating

  • stress, anxiety, panic

  • fears

  • motivation, self-confidence, goal-setting

  • concentration, learning,

  • physical discomfort, insomnia, heal physical problems,

  • relationships

  • discover feelings and memories that are holding you back,

  • explore spirituality.

But what about my secrets?

A question I hear often is “What about my secrets?” Will I say things I don’t want to say? The answer is NO. You retain full control of your experience in hypnosis. You will not do or say anything you do not want to.

As a Master Certified Hypnotherapist and healing facilitator I help you reach within yourself to find answers and peace of mind, your own path to a happier, healthier more meaningful life. I have many years experience helping people overcome the challenges in their lives. I can help you.

Myths, Conceptions and Fears:

  • I’ll give up control – A person in hypnosis is always in control

  • I will reveal secrets – Not if you don’t want to… you are in control

  • I don’t want to be in a “The Trance”  – Hypnosis is a natural state of mind like the moments just before you go to sleep each night

  • I don’t want to be asleep – again you are in control
  • I’ll lose consciousness – not likely

  • You cannot lie in hypnosis – Yes, you can… hypnosis is not a truth detector

  • “I heard every word you said” – Great!

Hypnosis Have Been Around A Long Time

Ancient Egyptians used sleep temples.

Greeks and Romans all were familiar with suggestion of the mind and hypnotic induction.

The Middle Ages forced it underground because of fear and ignorance.  Franz Anton Mesmer brought the practice back with his theory of “animal magnetism.  “mesemerism”

James Braid, an Englishman, was the first physician to seriously study Mesmer’s work, as a way to debunk and discredit it.  Instead, he became fascinated with it and introduced the words, hypnosis and suggestion. It was the first permanent shift from it being considered occult to a serious discipline, and proving that the true power lay within the subject and not the hypnotist.

James Esdaile who used hypnotic anesthesia wrote  that 1) hypnosis is a natural God-given method of healing;  2) the power produced by the unconscious mind of one under hypnosis is similar both in quality, character and degree with the power of the creator; and 3) all men have within them special power given by God, the power of hypnosis — to direct their movement and  provide for themselves.

Emile Coue’ discovered the power of auto-suggestion, and that all hypnosis is self-hypnosis.

Sigmund Freud used hypnosis for a time.

The American Medical Association approved hypnosis as a therapeutic method in 1958 and the American Psychology Association followed in 1960.

Religious misconceptions – Bible never uses formal hypnosis – The technique was used, e.g. Paul in Acts 22:17 when he speaks of going into a trance while praying in the temple.  Jesus used the power of suggestion and metaphor which speak to the non-conscious.

Applications of hypnosis are helpful in dealing with such matters as habit control, stress, excessive eating, smoking, fears, motivation, self-confidence, concentration, learning enhancement, pain management, insomnia, goal-setting, relationships and other areas which lead to unhappiness, dysfunction or difficulty in achieving personal goals.

Because all hypnosis is self-hypnosis an individual who does not wish to be hypnotized cannot.

One who wishes to can take himself/herself into any of several depth levels of hypnosis.  The process is more easily learned under supervision. It is not sleep, nor is it unconsciousness, nor magic, nor is it dangerous. It is an altered state of consciousness where the conscious mind is attending to other things, allowing the body to operate on “automatic pilot” as when daydreaming or becoming deeply involved in a book or a movie. Every individual has power available on demand, once the means of accessing such power is understood and utilized.
